Nicole Waldron, Psy.D.
I earned my Doctorate of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 2000 from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology (now Argosy University - Atlanta) and am a member of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of New Jersey and have maintained a successful private practice in North Jersey since 2004. I am experienced in facilitating group and individual therapy with adults and adolescents and provide an array of services including treatment for depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss issues, relationship issues, anger management issues, and forensic issues. I also have expertise in sex offender specific therapy for juveniles and adults.
I am certified in Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) by the Aaron T. Beck Center for Psychopathology Research and have many years of specialized training and experience in the provision of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Research has shown these treatment methods to be highly effective in alleviating symptoms. Both CT-R and CBT focus on empowering individuals to learn how to identify, gain control over, and change the thoughts and feelings that cause distress which subsequently leads to relief of symptoms. Therapy requires emotional work, but with commitment to the therapy process, together the therapist and client can find the right path toward achieving therapy goals. Although I primarily work from a CBT perspective, I also utilize techniques from Psychodynamic theory, which focuses on the relationship of an individual to self, others, and the environment, to further tailor the treatment experience. My goal is to understand the presenting problems of my clients and collaboratively develop strategies for change.
Welcoming practice for LGBTQ clients.
